Roy Blunt has worked for the people of Southwest Missouri since 1997, serving as their voice in the U.S. House of Representatives for six terms.

Blunt has led the fight in Washington on the most critical issues facing Southwest Missourians.  His legislation to win the war against methamphetamines in our communities is now law.  Blunt's bipartisan plan to enhance our nation's charitable giving was also signed into law.  And when Roy Blunt wrote a plan to shine some light on the way the federal government spends your tax dollars through a searchable database of federal grants and contracts, his colleagues overwhelmingly supported it, and it's now the law of the land.

A recognized leader on energy and gas-price issues, Blunt is a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce and heads the House Energy Action Team (HEAT).

With a background as a teacher, Blunt was first elected Greene County Clerk.  In 1984, Missourians elected Blunt the state's first Republican Secretary of State in more than 50 years. Before his election to the U.S. House, Blunt served four years as the president of his alma mater, Southwest Baptist University in Bolivar, Missouri.

Roy and his wife Abigail live in Springfield, Missouri.  Blunt has four children: Missouri Governor Matt Blunt; Amy Blunt, an attorney in Kansas City, Missouri; Andy Blunt, an attorney in Jefferson City, Missouri; and Charlie (age 3), who lives with his mom and dad. Blunt has five grandchildren: Davis Mosby, Ben Blunt, Branch Blunt, Eva Mosby, and Allyson Blunt.
